Privacy Policy
As part of our activities, we, Françoise Vaal Photographic Arts , may process personal data relating to you. This privacy statement informs you about which personal data we may process, the grounds for doing so, and your rights in this regard. All processing for which we are the controller is carried out in accordance with this privacy statement and applicable law. This statement applies to the processing of personal data of website visitors, customers, and other contacts (such as newsletter recipients).
A. What personal data do we process about you, and for what purposes?
The categories of personal data we may process about you depend on your relationship with us: for example, we process different personal data about clients than about applicants. Below, we explain which personal data we may process and for what purposes, per category of data subject. For each processing purpose, we indicate by letter the legal basis on which we base the processing in question. The letters correspond to the classification in Article 6, paragraph 1, of the General Data Protection Regulation. All our processing is based on one of the following legal bases. a) Processing takes place with your consent. b) Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract with you, or in the phase prior to entering into a contract. c) Processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation that we have. f) Processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by us or by a third party, and your interests do not override these interests.
Customers We may process the following categories of personal data about our customers:
- name, title, job title
- home and/or work address, email address
- phone number
- information about your company, such as Chamber of Commerce and VAT numbers
- correspondence, such as letters and emails
- financial information, such as account details and our declarations to you
We process this personal data for the following purposes, on the following grounds:
- providing our services (b)

- comply with our legal obligations (c, f)
Website visitors and newsletter recipients We may process the following categories of personal data about visitors to our website and subscribers to our newsletter:
- email address of newsletter subscribers
- We collect data about visitor behavior, such as pages visited on our website, the time spent on our website, and the page you visited before arriving at our website, using a Google Analytics cookie. We have configured data collection by Google Analytics to be privacy-friendly, in accordance with the recommendations of the Dutch Data Protection Authority. This means, among other things, that Google only processes a portion of your IP address and does not use your data for its own purposes.
We process this personal data for the following purposes, on the following grounds:

B. How do we obtain personal data?
We usually obtain personal data directly from you. In many cases, we will ask you to provide us with certain personal data, for example, if you become one of our customers. We also receive personal data from public sources, such as the trade register, company websites, and social media.
C. Providing personal data to third parties
We will share your personal data with third parties as little as possible. However, in some cases, we are forced to do so, for example, if a work of art needs to be delivered to you. In those cases, we will not share more personal data than necessary.
In all other cases, we will only provide your personal data to third parties if you have given permission for this or if we are legally obliged to do so.
To conduct our business, we use the services of several processors. These include hosting our website, sending our newsletter, and tracking statistics about website visits.
D. Retention period
In principle, we do not retain your personal data longer than necessary for the aforementioned purposes. We are legally required to retain certain personal data for a long period. For example, we must retain personal data subject to tax retention requirements for at least seven years after obtaining it.
E. Your rights
During the period in which we process your personal data, you have the right to request an overview of the personal data we process about you. If you discover that the personal data we process about you is incorrect, incomplete, or no longer relevant, you can request that we correct or delete that personal data. You also have the right to data portability, the right to object to our processing of your personal data, and the right to request that we restrict its processing. To the extent our processing is based on your consent, you always have the right to withdraw that consent for future processing. Our contact details are at the bottom of this privacy statement. This privacy statement was last updated on February 14, 2022. We reserve the right to make changes. We will do our best to inform you of any important changes that may affect you.
