In addition to my work in digital photography, I deeply enjoy the craftsmanship of painting and encaustics (working with wax). These techniques bring a completely different dynamic: there is no 'undo button' like in digital editing. This unpredictability makes the process both exciting and challenging for me.

The pieces I offer here combine monoprints and painting techniques on Japanese rice paper. Rice paper is very thin and requires a delicate approach, but it offers a beautiful texture that adds a unique dimension to the artwork.

Naast mijn werk in de digitale fotografie, geniet ik enorm van de ambachtelijke kanten van schilderen en encaustiek (werken met was). Deze technieken brengen een compleet andere dynamiek met zich mee: er is geen ‘ongedaan-knop’ zoals bij digitale bewerkingen. Die onvoorspelbaarheid maakt het werk juist spannend en uitdagend voor mij.

De werken die ik hier aanbied, combineren monoprints en schildertechnieken op Japans rijstpapier. Rijstpapier is heel dun en vraagt om een delicate werkwijze, maar biedt een prachtige textuur die het werk een bijzondere dimensie geeft.
